The Image of Mystery
Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense.
But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.
There is something more important than logic: imagination.
Imagination is the real and eternal world of which this vegetable universe is but a faint shadow.
Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.
The gentle downward slope gets steeper and imperceptibly becomes an abyss.
Reality is always at the edge of the abyss, hung from the thread of a thought.
And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
void,
likeness, image of
mystery,
I felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.
